Fishing Guides

Expert local watermen who know every flat and creek

Fishing Guides

South Andros is home to some of the most knowledgeable and experienced bonefishing guides in the Bahamas. These are not simply boat operators—they are watermen who have spent lifetimes reading the flats, understanding tides, and tracking fish.

What Makes a Great Guide

Local Knowledge

The best guides grew up on these waters. They know every flat, every channel, every seasonal pattern. This isn't learned from books—it's generations of experience passed down and honed through countless days on the water.

Spotting Ability

Seeing bonefish on the flats is an art form. Great guides can spot fish in conditions where others see nothing—reading water color, nervous water, tailing fish, and subtle movements that indicate feeding bonefish.

Casting Instruction

Whether you're a beginner or experienced angler, good guides help improve your casting, presentation, and technique. They're patient teachers who want you to succeed and truly experience the thrill of sight fishing.

Conservation Ethic

Professional guides practice catch-and-release, handle fish properly, and educate clients about the importance of preserving this world-class fishery for future generations.

Types of Fishing

Skiff Fishing

Fish from a flats skiff, poled by your guide through prime areas. This allows coverage of more water and access to deeper flats. Ideal for anglers who prefer casting from a stable platform.

Wade Fishing

Walk the flats with your guide, stalking fish in shallow water. This intimate approach offers incredible sight-fishing opportunities and the thrill of hunting fish on foot.

Creek Fishing

Fish the mangrove-lined creeks and inland waters where bonefish feed in protected areas. Excellent option during windy conditions or for exploring South Andros's unique interior waters.

Finding Your Guide

Most fishing lodges have their own staff guides, but independent guides are also available. Guide rates typically range from $400-600 per day for two anglers. We can help match you with guides based on your experience level, fishing preferences, and travel dates.
